The project today extends as a collective and in the live shows next to the trio, add a team of musicians and instrumentalists who have been part of the Mental Abstrato family in recent years, performing unique shows in various venues, cultural venues and corporate events.
The essence of contemporary jazz and hip hop are in perfect harmony with the rarities of Brazilian music within this project. Formed by musicians and producers Omig One, Calmão Tranquis and Guimas Santos, Mental Abstrato released their first album, "Pure Essence" in 2010 in Japan, with great international recognition. Some of the themes, however, were distributed by major labels like BBE Records, Far Out Records, IRMA Records and Paris Djs.
In 2014, with the song "Baião" - Mental Abstract & Dj Thira, they entered the top 10 of BBC Radio London, among classical and contemporary Brazilian music, elected by the respected music producer and researcher Gilles Peterson.
Now they arrive with their second album, "UZOMA", recorded at Red Bull Music Studios São Paulo, an urban and Afro-jazz soundtrack, representing contemporary Brazilian music, from the suburbs of São Paulo to the world.
Newcomers from a Cuba / Havana mini-tour, Mental Abstrato has been gaining prominence in recent years, performing at music festivals around Brazil and around the world, playing along or on the same stage as Elza Soares, Joao Donato, Azymuth, Duofel , Bocato and the Americans Robert Glasper, Joey Bada$$, the Italians Nu Guinea, among others. Guest artists such as legendary singer Claudya, Bocato, Tassia Reis, Rincon Sapiênça, Karol Conka, Rico Dalasam, Di Melo, Karla da Silva, Rashid, Xênia França, Izzy Gordon and many others have participated in their shows.
